All parts of the firebox are made of heavy duty cast iron. The heat transmission fins considerably increase the total surface area for greater heat exchange.
The large ceramic heatproof door (heat resistant to 800C) offers an exceptional view of the fire with most models offering a two way opening door. With a unique counter weight system the door slides up out of view to use as an open fire. Slide the door back down and it reverts to a safe, energy efficient slow combustion heater. Simple controls allow for control of the fire.
The practical design of the fireboxes make for easy cleaning with removable ash pans located under the grates and in some units accessible from the front of the unit.
All Cheminees Philippe Radiante inserts have been tested according to European environmental safety levels and comply with Australian and New Zealand standard AS4013/7403.
